Football Earns Second Straight Playoff Bid

In a season that started slow, the Timberwolf Football team rebounded to earn a spot in the Sac-Joaquin Division II Playoffs for the second straight year as the number thirteen seed.  They will play at fourth seeded Folsom on Friday night at 7pm.

The Timberwolves played what was arguably the toughest schedule in the Sac-Joaquin Section this year, taking on teams with a combined record of 72-28. Opponents Rocklin and Inderkum will enter the playoffs with perfect 10-0 records, while Woodcreek is the only blemish on 9-1 Del Campo’s schedule.

Validating the argument that it is the toughest league in the section, the Sierra Foothill League earned four spots in this year’s playoffs with Rocklin at the number two seed, Granite Bay at five, Del Oro at eight, and Woodcreek at thirteen.

With a win on Friday, the Timberwolves would head to the winner of the Sacramento vs. Granite Bay game on November 20th.

Tickets may be purchased at the game.  Adults are $9 and Student admission is $5.  For complete playoff brackets and directions to Folsom High School, visit the Sac-Joaquin Section website at www.cifsjs.org.
